Are You Ready for a New Mexico National Guard Weekend?
Serving in the New Mexico National Guard is a rewarding experience that is also hard work. You must be physically prepared to complete missions in difficult terrain and weather conditions, moving heavy objects and operating large machinery.
If you are planning to join the New Mexico National Guard, make sure you are able to meet the Army fitness and weight requirements.

Fitness Requirement
To serve effectively in the New Mexico National Guard, you must maintain physical readiness that includes regular medical exams and physical training. You need to complete a minimum number of situps and pullups in a two-minute period and then run two miles in a minimum time.
Get in Shape with the New Mexico National Guard
Can you already do the situps, pullups and two-mile run? Great! Do you have some work to do to pass the fitness test? No problem, you can get it done. Next, let your recruiter know that you want to join and need help to meet the fitness requirements. Your recruiter is ready to help you by setting goals and keeping track of your progress. When your recruiter knows you can pass the fitness test, go for it!

2-2-2 PT is not Just for You
The National Guard fitness test is not a secret, and it is fun to include a workout buddy to help you meet your goals. Set up 2-2-2 physical training so you can learn and practice the correct way to do situps and pushups as well as pacing to improve your run time.
