The New Mexico National Guard will enlist and re-enlist Soldiers and assist units with attrition management in order to meet end-strength mission goals set by The Adjutant General. This strength maintenance plan is comprised of the three tenets of strength maintenance:

RECRUITING – Recruit qualified Soldiers; emphasis on filling critical MOS and unit shortages

RETENTION – Retain quality MOSQ Soldiers and Officers

ATTRITION MANAGEMENT – Decrease the number of Soldiers leaving prior to MSO.
