Hunting and fishing licenses

Fly For Free Guard Soldiers can travel free on military planes when space is available. You can fly within and between the Continental United States, Alaska, Hawaii, Guam and Puerto Rico. Availability is based on a priority system.


Discount Shopping Guard Families can enjoy privileges at military installations around the world, including tax-free discount shopping at any Military Exchange and commissary.  You can even shop online at the Exchange. https://www.shopmyexchange.com/

Healthcare The Guard cares about the health of Soldiers and their Families. Military members and their Families can purchase inexpensive health coverage from TRICARE Reserve Select (TRS), for the top-quality healthcare they deserve. https://tricare.mil/

Thrift Savings Plan As a member of the uniformed services, you have the opportunity to participate in one of the finest retirement plans in the world. The TSP allows Guard members to contribute to a long-term savings and investment plan.


Re-employment Benefits When you have to leave your job to serve your country, you are assured of being able to come back to work when you return. Federal law protects your right to be re-employed in the same position upon returning from military service. 


Veterans Administration (VA) Home Loans Guard Soldiers may be eligible for VA home loans with minimum or no down payment. VA guarantees loans for homes up to a pre-determined amount and can also eliminate the need for private mortgage insurance. https://www.benefits.va.gov/homeloans/

Uniformed Services Retirement Plan The Guard can continue to pay you every month after you have finished serving. This is on top of any benefits from your civilian career and any other retirement funds you may have coming.


Veteran’s Hiring Preference New Jersey’s merit system provides veterans preference in employee selection. Tickets for Troops. Veteran Tickets Foundation's Tickets for Troops Program is dedicated to giving back to those who gave us so much. We team up with major sports teams, leagues, promoters, organizations, venues and every day event ticket holders to provide free tickets to currently serving and veterans of all branches of the US militaryhttps://www.vettix.org/

MOBCOP • Tour of Duty 

​Provides a portal to post, find and volunteer for Active Duty tours. Tour of Duty (TOD) is a system for advertising AD opportunities where RC Soldiers can look for available tours that match their skills and desire to serve. Soldiers can volunteer for consideration for the tours and the hiring commands can screen and recommend interested candidates as part of the TOD process. Soldiers recommended to fill the tours sign automatically generated request packets in DAMPS-A.

Soldiers that would like to volunteer for mobilizations should contact their unit and ask to be added to the G1 MOB Volunteer list.
